How communities are helping

Communities around Australia are involved in creating a stronger, safer Australia.

Across Australia, communities that are united by geography, history, interests, faith or traditions are uniting to encourage and support constructive participation in civil society and spreading positive narratives that advocate change through peaceful democratic systems.  By working together communities can build their resilience to enable them to resist, reject and recover from violent extremism.

Communities are well placed to assist individuals who may be vulnerable to violent extremist ideologies by providing them with advice, support and encouraging positive and constructive civic participation. The Australian Government has been proud to support many community projects around Australia.
